The Home Depot

I have never left a review before, but I feel genuinely compelled to do so after my experience at the Altoona Home Depot this morning. I called with a question regarding the return policy. The customer service representative was dismissive and condescending throughout the conversation. When I finally stopped the conversation and asked to speak with a manager, she responded, “That’s fine, he won’t believe you anyway.” That comment was completely unprofessional and shocking to hear from someone representing a major retailer. At that point, the issue was no longer about the return policy. After a lengthy wait time, I did speak with an assistant manager, but unfortunately, the response I received was mediocre at best and left me feeling that my concern was not taken seriously and that the employee’s behavior would not be appropriately addressed. I understand that employees have policies they need to follow. What I do have an issue with is being talked over, dismissed, and treated disrespectfully for simply asking a question. After this experience, I will not be shopping at Home Depot again. Customers deserve courtesy and professionalism, and unfortunately, that was not my experien

Do not fall for their store credit card at check-out! I did and was very sorry I did. When I went to pay it via automatic bank draft on the phone six days before it was due, I inadvertently forgot one digit. You'd think their system would've flagged that and told me I didn't enter enough digits. Six days later, on the due date, I received an email stating that my payment didn't go through. I called right away and the representative told me my payment couldn't be processed b/c I was missing a digit. So I provided her with my checking account number again. Even though it was on the due date, she informed me I'd still be charged a $29 late fee, in addition to a $29 return check fee. $58 for a missing number. What a debacle! I routinely pay my bills on time and have never had a return check fee or late fee...until now. My credit score is above 800. So I closed the account immediately and my husband and I will never step foot in a Home Depot again.

Manager Malcom super!!!! Fixed our return problem returning a leaf collector! He is sweet and laid back so I wasn’t stressed out about returning. Thank you!!! This is a guy you should hold onto at Home Depot. You don’t find people like this every day.

Ordered a new Cub Cadet lawn tractor online, drove an hour and they were ready when I got there, gave me a receipt and rolled it up on my trailer. In, out and loaded in literally 5 minutes excellent!

I went into The Home Depot today to pick up materials for a family project, and I ended up needing a lot of help at the Pro Desk. I had a materials list sent from a family member’s online cart, but my bank card had a spending limit that was lower than the total, so we couldn’t just check out the cart as-is. The woman helping me at the Pro Desk went above and beyond. She had to manually enter every single item from the online cart one by one, and on top of that, some of the items were out of stock. That meant I had to go back through the store and choose replacements, and she patiently updated everything as we went. I sometimes struggle to explain exactly what I need, and situations like that can get overwhelming for me, but she stayed calm, patient, and focused through the whole process. Her kindness and professionalism made a stressful trip so much easier. Employees like her are the reason customers come back! I’m incredibly grateful for the patience and care she showed me today. Thank you for having such dedicated people on your team.
